Halifax Dental Restorative Services

Dental Restorations

If you suffer cavities from tooth decay, or one of your teeth is damaged, we can help you. We offer restorative dentistry services including tooth-coloured fillings and crowns for tooth decay and damage, as well as a number of tooth replacement options for patients who’ve lost one or more teeth. Sedation is available for all restorative treatments.

Fillings

We repair cavities with modern tooth-coloured composite or ceramic fillings that restore your tooth's appearance, structure and function. We also offer safe removal and replacement of older mercury amalgam fillings.

Crowns

Teeth that are seriously damaged by decay or trauma can be restored and protected with a ceramic or porcelain crown. Crowns are custom-made to look just like natural teeth and they are matched to the shape and colour of your existing teeth.

Inlays

A dental inlay is a type of restoration that fixes an existing tooth that is too damaged to support a filling, but not so much that it needs a crown. An inlay fills the chewing surface between the tooth's cusps (the little bumps on your back teeth) and it is coloured to match your natural teeth.

Onlays

An onlay is an inlay that restores one or more of your cusps. Onlays are strong enough to restore the tooth's biting strength.

Dental Bridges

If you have one or more missing teeth, a dental bridge will restore the gap in your smile. A dental bridge fills the gap between teeth with natural-looking artificial teeth that are bonded to the existing natural teeth on either side of the gap. Bridges are custom-made and colour-matched to your existing teeth, and provide a comfortable, attractive solution to restoring your smile.

E4D (CAD/CAM dentistry)

E4D stands for Evolution 4 Dentistry, which is an advanced computer design technology that allows us to prepare restorations such as crowns, inlays, and veneers in our office instead of in a lab. This allows you to get measured and fitted for a natural looking and perfected matched restoration in one visit to our office.
