Many people have misaligned or crooked teeth. The causes can range from genetic factors to jaw development as children. We offer orthodontic services to straighten and reposition teeth, correcting conditions such as gaps between teeth, crooked teeth, overbite or underbite. Straighter teeth are more attractive, less likely to cause jaw pain, and they are also easier to clean, reducing your risk of tooth decay and periodontal disease.
Orthodontic treatment consists of a three stage process. The first stage is pre-treatment, which is when we determine whether you will need braces to straighten your teeth, and if so, which braces you will need. The second stage, active treatment, is when you will actually be wearing braces. The third stage is retention, when you will no longer wear braces but you may need to use a dental retainer to hold your teeth in place as they settle into their new positions.
At David Quigley Dentistry we offer a variety of braces to suit your needs.
Invisalign aligners are a virtually invisible alternative to metal braces. The aligners are made of clear plastic, and fit over your teeth, and they can be removed when you're eating, brushing or flossing.
Invisalign treatment times can vary as treatment is completely customized to the patients' needs. It can range from 5 months to 2 years. During treatment you'll wear a new, slightly different set of aligners every 2 weeks. Each new set moves your teeth into their new, straighter positions. Following Invisalign treatment, you'll may require a retainer to hold your teeth in position as they settle. For more information on Invisalign, please click here to visit their site.
